Moderate snow continues to fall for some areas of northern El Paso and Teller Counties, accumulating in the grass and yards. Meanwhile, in the plains and along the southern I-25 stretch, light rain/snow mix continues. Take it slow on the roadways - due to VERY strong winds, we are seeing blowing dirt and snow (depending on the region), which is tremendously reducing visibility. A retrial for an Occupy Wall Street sympathizer accused of setting a fire that burned a building under construction in Fort Collins and spread to a residential complex is now scheduled for September.
Benjamin David Gilmore's first trial on charges including arson ended last September with a hung jury.
The Coloradoan reports his second trial initially was to start in February, but after a court hearing this month, it is now set to begin Sept. 16.
The October 2011 fire caused an estimated $10 million in damage.
Prosecutors argued Gilmore's watch was found at the scene, and Gilmore had burns on his hands after the fire. Gilmore argued that had he lost the watch and burned his hands before the fire.
