Matt Prater will be suspended for the first four games of the 2014 NFL season according to a report by the Denver Post's Mike Klis.
Prater was charged with a DUI three years ago in the preseason after which he was enrolled in the league's alcohol program. Klis reports that the suspension is because of a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
Prater would be available to return to the Broncos on October 12 when the Broncos travel to face the New York Jets.
