Heavy rain, lightning and hail slammed El Paso and Teller counties and the Eastern Plains Friday.
The rain caused some heavy flooding around Colorado Springs.
Lightning was reported in several areas in the city, and has also struck a transformer at Constitution and Downing. Colorado Springs Utilities said that there were several power outages earlier Friday due to lightning, but now the two primary ones are Rockrimmon and Woodmen, and Constitution and Alpine. Ninety-five customers lost power in the Rockrimmon and Woodmen area, but some of the customers have had their power restored. Sixty-four customers are experiencing power outages in the Constitution and Alpine area.
Drivers are reminded that traffic lights should be treated as four-way stops if they are affected by the power outages.
Meanwhile, snow fell in Woodland Park Friday, making for slushy roads and chilly temperatures.
