When 62-year old Dale Hohmann walked out of a local King Soopers to see someone driving away in his truck, he was shocked.
His mind didn't immediately go to his truck, or his checkbook and wallet inside it, but to the small shih tzu puppy sleeping in the back seat.
"Just having her made a difference in my life. I'm not as sick, she takes the stress away. She's my little girl," said Hohmann.
Hohmann suffers from severe visceral stomach neuropathy. His little shih tzu Lucy wasn't just his companion--she was much more than that.
"She gave me a reason to live. I'm not suicidal whatsoever but she gave me a reason to be happy," he said.
Lucy is 7 months old with white hair and red spots.
"I just want my dog back, I don't even care about the truck, I don't care about anything in the truck," Hohmann said.
The truck is a white 2006 Toyota Tacoma and was stolen out of the King Soopers parking lot located on South Academy near Hancock in Colorado Springs on October 28.
Hohmann is offering a reward for the return of Lucy. If you have any information he's asking you to call 719-646-8008.
If you have any information on the auto theft please call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
