Both suspects who police believe robbed a Kohl’s store earlier this month in Pueblo have been captured.
Adriane Rino and Orlando Joseph Velarde are now in the Pueblo County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Police tell 11 News that Valarde was arrested on unrelated charges earlier this week.
According to Pueblo Police, on December 12, police reported the Velarde struck up a conversation with the loss prevention officer while the officer watched Rino, who was thought to be shoplifting. Police say at one point, Velarde even asked the loss prevention officer for a cigarette.
Once Rino was seen leaving the store at 5627 North Elizabeth without paying for several items, police say the officer tried to stop her. Velarde allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officer and aimed it at customers approaching the store. While pointing the gun, police say both he and Adriane Rico began walking away.
Pueblo Police are still investigating this robbery, if you think you have any information on this crime, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (719-542-7867). Your tip could be eligible for a cash reward.
