Hundreds of Pueblo residents showed up Tuesday night to have their say on how the local sales tax should be spent.
Pueblo City Council wants to change the way the half-cent city tax is spent. The tax generates about $7 million a year. It was originally created to fund economic growth and to help recruit businesses that have high-paying jobs. City council wants to use part of it to fix streets and clean up neighborhoods. To make the change, they have to put the question on a ballot.
No decisions were made at the meeting.
