Police Arrest Two Suspects in Springs Bank Robbery

Colorado Springs Police have arrested two robbery suspects that allegedly robbed a bank north of downtown Tuesday.

Police have 30-year-old Colorado Springs resident Daryl Keener and 28-year-old Colorado Springs resident Gary Cyprian in custody.

Police say the robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. at the Air Academy Federal Credit Union, located at 705 N. Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs.

When officers arrived on scene they learned an unknown Hispanic male believed to be in his 20’s entered the bank and demanded money at gunpoint. The man was described as being approximately 5-foot-3 with a thin build. He was wearing a camouflage jacket and was carrying a backpack. He was armed with a hand gun and he fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. His face was covered during the robbery and he was last seen on foot.

Officers and Robbery Detectives searched the area and followed up on investigative leads developed during the initial investigation. As a result, Officers and Detectives contacted two suspect vehicles believed to be associated with the robbery and two suspects have been arrested and will be charged with Aggravated Robbery. Cash believed to be taken during the heist was recovered.
