A strange altercation in the hallway of a Colorado Springs apartment complex may have started because of the hat the victim was wearing.
Police say they were called to the apartments at 25 North 31st for a possible stabbing around 6:20 p.m. It turned out that nobody was stabbed, but one man was hit over the head with a glass object.
The investigation revealed that the confrontation started when two people left their apartment and told a third that they didn't like the hat he was wearing. The fight followed.
Police say they believe they've spoken to everybody who was involved.
The man who was hit with the glass was taken to the hospital but does not appear to have life-threatening injuries. Police haven't released what kind of hat he was wearing.
