A man is facing charges after allegedly trying to break into a home while a woman who lives there was inside.

The woman told police that someone rang her doorbell, but she didn't answer because she was not expecting anyone. Not long after that, the victim says she saw someone opening a window near the front door.

It happened on the 2800 block of Tumblewood Grove December 2.

The woman called 911 and left through her garage. As she was driving away, she reportedly got a good look at the suspect getting into a vehicle parked near the house. She also got the vehicle's license plate number.

An officer located the vehicle near Shasta Drive and Monterey Road in Colorado Springs. James Drew Williams, 47, was arrested.

Police say the victim was able to identify him as the suspect.

Williams is charged with attempted burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.
