A man told police he woke up in the middle of the night to find a stranger cooking herself breakfast in his apartment.
The incident was reported just after 3 a.m. at the Fountain Hill Apartments on 2330 E. Fountain Blvd in Colorado Springs.
While officers were on their way to the apartment, police received a call from a home a quarter mile away on Hutchinson Drive regarding a second home invasion. The caller said he was detaining a woman he'd caught breaking into his home.
Police say it was the same woman in both break-ins. The suspect was taken into custody for the burglaries. Officers later determined the suspect was lying about her identity; once they figured out who she really was, police say they found there were three felony warrants for her arrest.
The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Josefina Gonsalez-Nieves.
