Guns were drawn after a big fight on the southeast side of the Springs, ending with two people shot.

According to police, a fight broke out just before 10 p.m. in the area of Hutchinson Drive and Winnepeg Drive, which is near Circle and Airport. Residents in the area reported hearing several shots go off, then seeing two vehicles leave the area.

No victims were at the scene when officers arrived, but police were soon notified by an area hospital that a man had been admitted with a serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound. Police say he left the shooting scene in his own vehicle.

A short time later, police received word that a second shooting victim had showed up at an address on the 3100 block of East Dale Street, not far from Circle and Platte. There was initially confusion that there might have been two shootings; police have since sorted out that there was one shooting, and like the other shooting victim, the second victim had just driven away from the scene.

That victim, a juvenile male, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A number of witnesses remained in the area where the shooting took place, and have been contacted by police. They reportedly told officers that the shooting was gang-related.

Police have not released a suspect description at this time. If you have any information that might help police, you are asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
