Our reporter at I-25 and Circle says police have left the area.
Officers had been there since just before 6 a.m. Tuesday trying get a man safely off the interstate. Police were called to the I-25 bridge, which overlooks Circle in south Colorado Springs, on a welfare check. Once there, police tell 11 News they found a man leaning against the railing, refusing to get off the highway.
At this time, police have not referred to this incident as a suicide attempt, but do say this is the second time in the last few hours that they have been called out on a welfare check for this individual.
We are trying to reach police now for information on how the situation was resolved.
