Police rushed into a Springs neighborhood Saturday on reports of a possible kidnapping attempt.
A 10-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after he says he was beaten up. But once there, police say it was determined that he didn't have any injuries. Now, officers are trying to figure out what happened.
The boy's mother told 11 News that her son was staying over at a neighbor's house. At some point, she says, the neighbor let the child leave. Her son told her that it was after that, that he was beaten and transported to the hospital.
Police say they were called to the neighborhood, located near Cheyenne Meadows and Highway 115, on reports of an attempted kidnapping. They say they do not believe any kidnapping attempt actually took place, and are trying to work with the boy's family to figure out what happened.
They say residents in the neighborhood do not have any reason to be worried.
