Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Springs convenience store.

Just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the Shell Service Center on 1590 S. Academy Blvd. Police say the suspect walked in, showed the clerk his gun and tried to rob the store.

The suspect then walked away from the store. Police have not said if he got away with anything.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, probably about 18. He was reportedly 6 feet tall with a thin build.

If you have any information, you are asked to call CSPD right away. That number is 444-7000. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
