A man is facing felony charges after he allegedly told police repeatedly he was going to get a gun and shoot them.
The incident started at an apartment on the 5400 block of North Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs. Police say they were helping a domestic violence victim get the victim's personal property from the apartment.
The victim's roommate, David Beale, was reportedly not involved in the domestic violence situation, but got upset and started threatening to get a gun and shoot the officers if they didn't leave.
Not only that, but police say after the officers left the apartment, Beale called police dispatch and again threatened to shoot officers. This time if they didn't leave the area.
Beale, still on the phone with dispatchers, is accused of confronting one of the officers who was on the call in the parking lot of a Costco. Beale allegedly said he was “going to a friend’s house to get a rifle and the officers are not safe” and “it will be harmful, dangerous and unpleasant for the officers.”
The nearest Costco is over a quarter mile from where the original incident at the apartment took place.
Beale was eventually arrested without further incident. He is facing felony charges.
The incident happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. October 25.
