Police are asking for the public's help to find a driver who rammed into a police vehicle as he fled from an officer.
It happened just after 6:50 p.m. Sunday at the the 7-Eleven on Fillmore and Wood Avenue in Colorado Springs.
Police said an officer was approaching a stolen vehicle during a shoplifting investigation. The shoplifting incident took place at the King Soopers at Centennial Boulevard and Fillmore a few minutes earlier.
The officer said two suspects in the shoplifting case walked out of the 7-Eleven toward the vehicle at the same time the officer was approaching.
That's when the man reportedly got behind the wheel and backed into the police car before speeding away. The officer was not hurt, but the car had moderate damage.
The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Chevrolet truck with Colorado license plate number 978-XCZ.
Anyone with information is asked to call Colorado Springs police at 444-7000.
