A man is facing charges after reportedly punching two people and trying to break into vehicles.
Benjamin Rippy, 23 is charged with criminal trespass, assault and resisting arrest.
Springs police say Rippy walked out of the Denny's on Harrison Road, went up to a vehicle and started pounding on the window. A man and his wife were inside. Police say when the man rolled down the window, Rippy punched him in the face.
The suspect then reportedly walked over to a Best Western hotel where he confronted another couple. The man says he told Rippy he wouldn't give him any money, and that's when the suspect reportedly punched the second victim and kicked out his tail light.
While officers were interviewing the victims, Rippy was reported to be back in the Denny's parking lot, trying to break into vehicles.
Police say Rippy dropped a knife he was holding when they confronted him, but he did not obey their commands and resisted arrest. He was Tazed and taken into custody.
The incident happened at 4:37 p.m. Friday.
