A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. A man was left lying in an apartment complex parking lot, shot in both legs, after two men reportedly tried to rob him.
Police are now trying to find the those suspects.
Springs police received a call around 10:20 p.m. Monday after shots were heard near the Hill Park Apartments on the 200 block of North Murray. Responding officers found the wounded man after arriving on scene. He was shot once in each leg.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical but non-life threatening condition.
Officers then searched the area, but found no sign of any suspects. A number of neighbors heard the shots, but police say no one saw the actual shooting occur.
Police have spoken with the victim, and say they are now following up on a couple of leads that he gave him. They say they are looking for two black men, one 6-foot-1, the other about 5-foot-5. Both were dressed in dark clothing. No other suspect description is available at this time.
