A woman working a late night shift at an adult bookstore called 911 after she said she was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Department, around the same time the victim called for help, a panic alarm went off at Romatix adult bookstore. The store is located off Lashelle Way, in the area of South Academy and B Street.

Deputies responded just after 12:30 a.m., minutes after the alarm sounded, but say the suspect had already gotten away. The clerk told authorities that the suspect had demanded money while holding his gun out at her, then left the store on foot heading north. Deputies and a K-9 unit combed the area, but could not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-11 black male, weighing around 220 pounds with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a red hat with the letter "B" on the front, a blue scarf, black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 390-5555.
