Police Search For Suspect After Gas Station Robbery

A robbery suspect is on the loose, after holding up a Western Convenience Store early Sunday morning.

The robbery happened just after 4:00am Sunday, at the Western Convenience Store at 2507 East Platte Avenue, in Colorado Springs.

Police say the suspect demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk. The clerk never saw a gun, but the man kept his hand in the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt, indicating that he had one.

The suspect left with six cartons of cigarettes and cash, but police aren't saying how much money while the investigation continues.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20's, 5'6" to 5'10", 160-190 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. He was last seen walking westbound on Platte Avenue.
