Police officers and a K-9 unit searched through Springs neighborhoods Wednesday night searching for a man they called "armed and dangerous."
They didn't find Andrew Lee Thompson II that night, but less than 24 hours later law enforcement had him in custody.
Thompson was wanted on several felony warrants out of Iowa and Arizona. Investigators received information Wednesday that Thompson and a female companion had possibly left the Denver area for Colorado Springs.
Officers then found the suspects' vehicle on the southeast side of town near Chelton and Astrozon. They were able to take the woman, Delberta McKenzie, into custody, but Thompson ran off.
Police and several search dogs canvassed neighborhoods around the area, but did not find him that night.
Police spokeswoman Barbara Miller said Springs police were able to give Denver police information that resulted in Thompson's capture Thursday afternoon. She didn't elaborate further on where or how he was caught.
Thompson is now in custody in Denver.
