PREVIOUS 5/9/14:It was a soured drug deal that led to a fatal shooting in a Springs bar parking lot, according to a victim's account in an arrest affidavit obtained by 11 News Friday.

The document says that 31-year-old Jason Forbes met up with David Johnson and Javar Harrison at the Savannah Bar and Grill Tuesday to buy some weed.

Harrison told police that Forbes, a casual acquaintance, had called him earlier that day wanting to buy 2 pounds of weed. Harrison said he arranged for Forbes and Johnson to meet up at the East Bijou bar.

Sometime around 7 p.m., Harrison said he arrived at Savannah's and saw Forbes and Johnson talking in the back seat of a car. Harrison told police that he climbed into the driver's seat and noticed two bags of marijuana sitting between the men, so he assumed they were discussing the transaction.

Harrison said things took a deadly turn when Forbes and Johnson started arguing about the price Johnson wanted for the weed. From the affidavit:

"Mr. Harrison only heard pieces of the conversation from the back seat but could sense that Smoke [Forbes] didn't seem happy with the price of the marijuana, as D [Johnson] commented something to the effect of 'If you don't want it, then don't take it.'

"Smoke then responded, 'Dude, how about this,' at which point Mr. Harrison heard gunshots."

Police say Forbes fatally shot Johnson, 38, and then shot Harrison. Harrison told officers he rolled out of the car and tried to hide behind another vehicle. When he saw Forbes walking back towards his Audi, the affidavit says Harrison tried to get back to his own car, but Forbes spotted him and shot him two more times.

Harrison was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to recover.

Forbes was arrested two days after the shootings, and has been charged with first-degree murder.
