Police May Be Able To Access Cell Phone Info Without Warrant

By  |

Police may soon have more access to our cell phone information even if they don't have a warrant.

The Colorado house has given preliminary approval to a bill that would require phone companies to provide law enforcement with access to the location of a phone in emergencies.

Phone companies often share such information when there is an abduction or missing person.

The practice would be made state policy if the bill is approved.

One more house vote is required before the bill moves to the senate.
