Officers were called to downtown Colorado Springs early Saturday morning on reports of a man waving a weapon around.

Two officers responded to 0 South Tejon, where the suspect was hurriedly walking on the sidewalk. The officers said he started running after they tried to contact him, and at some point tossed something underneath a parked car.

Police caught the suspect when he allegedly attempted to jump over a retaining wall. The officers said they found a revolver in the suspect's pockets. A second semi-automatic handgun was later found under the car.

The suspect already had a felony conviction, so police charged him with possession of a weapon by a previous offender. The suspect has been identified as Michael Bartley.
