LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a 41-year-old Longmont man wanted on a vehicular homicide charge stemming from the death of his 7-year-old son has likely fled to California.
Longmont Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur says officers who tried to serve a warrant for Manuel Nunez, also known as Manuel Nunez-Luna, learned that he had left town. Nunez faces several charges, including vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, stemming from the Aug. 23 crash in Boulder County that killed Vicente Nunez.
The Longmont Times-Call reports (http://bit.ly/1bNaFXm ) the man was arrested after the crash but was released as state troopers continued their investigation.
Investigators say Nunez ran a red light and crashed after swerving to avoid crossing traffic. He and six other passengers, including four children ages 5 through 15, suffered minor injuries.
