A man is recovering after being hit by a car--and police say it wasn't an accident.
The victim was walking on the 300 block of University Drive around 11 p.m. Tuesday when police say someone intentionally ran him down. When officers got there, they found the injured victim sprawled in the roadway.
Officers shut down the block, which is near Airport and South Academy, for the next four hours while detectives with the CSPD Major Accident Unit investigated. They cleared the scene around 3 a.m.
The victim was taken to the hospital, and is expected to recover.
Police say they have obtained an arrest warrant for the victim's girlfriend, 43-year-old Charmain Trujillo, for second-degree assault. Officers do not know her whereabouts at this time. No suspect information has been released.
