Fire crews responded to a hotel Monday morning after smoke was spotted on the second floor and in the laundry room.
Turns out, a fire extinguisher was to blame.
Police say officers had been called just before the smoke had been seen on reports of man running up and down the hallway at Fillmore Crossing, screaming. He then allegedly sprayed a fire extinguisher in the hallway, causing the smoke that had been seen.
Officers say the suspect had also trashed his hotel room.
Justin Hatfield was charged with destroying property belonging to the hotel.
Fillmore Crossing is located on the 3100 block of Sinton Road in Colorado Springs.
