A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. An observant passerby noticed someone with a flashlight roaming around inside a Springs veterinarian clinic Sunday night and called police.
The witness said he also heard the sound of glass breaking.
Officers arrived at Cat Tails, located on the corner of Star Ranch Road and Highway 115, and spotted a man standing inside near a broken window. The suspect was ordered out and arrested. Police say he was carrying several items stolen from the business.
It's unclear exactly what the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Thom Marzak, was allegedly after. The items he is accused of stealing have not been disclosed, but it does not appear he was after money.
