Police are asking for the public's help to find a hit-and-run driver who left a man in serious condition.

The accident happened May 26 at South Circle Drive and Monterey Road in Colorado Springs.

The victim, Christopher Simmons, was on his way home from work when a car hit his moped from behind.

"Just left him on the side of the road, left him there for dead,” his sister Amanda Coyle said.

"The guy just drove off and the scooter got drug underneath the car for a couple blocks and then the guy ditched the scooter,” his brother Chad Simmons said.

"He had a right to be on the street. He had his lights on and was doing everything he could to be seen,” Chad Simmons said.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a white or light-colored car with a spoiler.

Anyone with information is asked to call Springs police. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP (7867)
