Colorado Springs Police Officers arrested a woman wanted in connection with a local retail theft ring Tuesday on Bijou and Circle.
According to reports from the Colorado Springs Police, Amber Smidt came "Just Computers" on E. Platte Ave. wanting to sell gift cards.
An investigation revealed the gift cards were from stolen merchandise returned at JC Penney's. Investigators also say that Smidt sold $400 in fraudulent cards to a victim, who is a quadriplegic.
The cards were invalid and never activated.
Smidt was wanted by police for money laundering, theft by receiving and theft from an at-risk adult.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the police department at 444-7000.
This is part of an on-going investigation related to Just Computers and police say they expect additional arrests.
