A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Colorado Springs police are investigating a robbery that occurred on the 900 block of East Vermijo Avenue early Thursday morning at the same time a shot was fired into a home in the area.
Police can't say for sure that the two incidents are related.
A man was robbed by two men wearing hoodies shortly after 1 a.m near East Vermijo and South Institute Street. Around the same time, a homeowner called police after a bullet smashed through her kitchen window.
Police don't have a more detailed description of the robbers and can't confirm that the gunshot was related to the robbery.
Officers are in the area investigating both calls separately.
