A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Police have not yet substantiated a potential threat against a Colorado Springs school, but warned school security officers of the threat as a precaution.
The alleged threat stems from a flier, which talks about a potential threat to an unnamed school in the Springs. Police say somebody who did not hear the actual threat reported it to them Thursday. Officers immediately contacted area schools.
At this point in time, police have not determined whether the threat is legitimate or a hoax. 11 News is staying on top of this investigation and will provide further information as soon as it is made available.
