A death investigation is underway in Colorado Springs after police discovered a body under a bridge.
Officers say a body was found at 11:30a.m. on Sunday near I-25 and Tejon Street.
Police are not calling this death suspicious. Officers responded to the area after a passerby reportedly saw the body under a blanket. The El Paso County Coroner removed the body from the scene. Some folks told 11 News the man might have been homeless, but police have not confirmed that yet. Here’s what one witness said.
“I was walking and I saw somebody under the bridge right there and it didn’t seem out of place because when I walk there’s usually people that are sleeping under the bridge to stay out of the weather I guess. Then when I walked back this way there were police. I got something from my car and looked and he was gone,” Angeline Canney explained.
The coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine how the man died.
