Areas of light snow will continue on and off across PARTS of Southern Colorado this afternoon and evening, gradually winding down this evening. Additional amounts should be light, but will cause some slick spots where the snow occurs The biggest concern will be the very cold conditions we see tonight into Thursday morning. Police say an officer was involved in a shooting during the investigation of unspecified incident late Tuesday night.
Just after 11 p.m., officers were called to the 6000 block of Summer Grace Street, which is in the Stetson Hills neighborhood of Colorado Springs. While investigating the original call, police say an officer "was involved in a shooting with a 43-year-old male." The police department will not confirm that the man was shot by the officer; CSPD will only say that he is suffering from injuries related to the shooting.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not clear at this time. Police say it happened in the street, but have not elaborated further.
The injured party sustained non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover. There were no injuries to any officers.
