Although we are still tracking some light snow and icy/snow covered roads, the biggest concern for the morning will be the frigid temperatures. We are starting off with temperatures a few degrees above/below zero. Due to a breezy wind this morning, our wind chill, or what it "feels" like is well below zero. Please bundle up with numerous layers as you head out this morning. You will likely need to keep all the layers on hand throughout the day as highs reach the teens and low 20s with lingering flurries possible. Police say two reports of gunfire over the weekend may be related.
The first incident was reported about 1:10 a.m. Sunday in the area of Virginia and Institute in Colorado Springs.
Witnesses reported hearing seven to nine shots, and described the suspect vehicle as a white Dodge Durango.
Nine shell casings were found.
As officers were investigating the scene, they say another shots fired call came in. This one was in the area of Fillmore and El Paso.
One more shell casing was found at the second site.
Police say they believe the two incidents are related.
