Light to moderate snow showers continue this Wednesday morning with cold temperatures to start the day. Roads are *very* icy and snow packed throughout southeast Colorado... so please allow extra time for the morning drive. Throughout the midday and afternoon, we'll keep the chance of some light, fine snow showers, but expecting minor accumulations through the day. Snow looks to finally push out this evening/overnight and our warm up begins. Head over to the "Weather' tab for a full look at the forecast.
Shots were fired at a Springs home improvement store Thursday afternoon as a pair of shoplifting suspects fled the parking lot.
The incident happened at 3:39 p.m. Thursday at the Lowe's on North Academy and Platte.
According to police, the suspects were spotted stealing merchandise from the store. When confronted, they ran to a car in the parking lot, where a third suspect was waiting. Immediately after jumping into the vehicle, police say someone inside fired a weapon. No one was injured.
Fifteen minutes later, police spotted a car matching the vehicle description and tried to pull it over. The driver sped off and was able to get away. The occupants later ditched the car on the 800 block of North Foote Avenue.
Police are still looking for the suspects. The shoplifting suspects are a man and a woman, both described as white and being in their 20s or 30s. The driver of the vehicle was a male, but police do not have a further suspect description. The getaway car was a green four-door Honda Accord.
