Locally heavy rain will remain possible overnight, with any showers and storms. Areas likely to see additional heavy rain will likely be east of I-25 and along HWY 50 from Canon City eastward. Springs Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning on the southeast side of Colorado Springs.
Shortly before 2:00 a.m., police received calls of gunshots heard in the area of Platte Place and East Platte Avenue. Officers found a car parked at 2353 Platte Place with bullet holes. Officers searched the area but found no sign of a victim or a shooter.
A half hour later, police received word that a person had checked into Evans Army Hospital on Fort Carson with a gunshot wound. The victim’s wound was listed as non-life threatening.
The victim told police that he didn’t know the suspects or why they shot him. He was only able to describe the shooters as three black men.
CSPD Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate this shooting.
