Colorado Springs police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday.
Officers had to close the 2000 block of Carmel Drive to investigate the crash.
First responders say the rider of the motorcycle had been thrown off the bike, landing in the driveway of a home. The rider, now identified as 21-year-old Zytavious Zakeem Prise, was dead when medical teams arrived.
Police believe the rider was going north on Carmel Drive and failed to negotiate a slight right hand turn in the roadway. The rider dropped the bike prior to striking a curb.
Speed may be a factor in the accident. It is not known if alcohol was involved. The Major Accident Unit is continuing the investigation.
