Colorado Springs police confirm a pedestrian has died after being at Platte and Murray. Police identified the victim as 57-year-old Roger D. Cowan of Colorado Springs.

Police have shut down the road while they investigate and traffic is being detoured around the accident scene.

Police say Cowan was walking home from a nearby bar when he tried to cross Murray against the red light. A driver hit him and he died at the scene of the crash. Police are investigating whether Cowan was intoxicated.

Police tell us the driver involved in the crash did stop at the scene and this was not a hit-and-run. Right now there are no charges against the driver.
