Police Investigate Attempted Abduction

Two girls are safe after escaping an abduction attempt.

Police say the girls were walking in the area of Austin Bluffs and Rangewood in northeast Colorado Springs around 4:30 p.m. Monday when a white van began following them. A male passenger then reportedly got out of the van and chased the girls. They were able to get away.

The driver of the van is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s or early 40s. The suspect who chased the girls is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s, reportedly wearing a bright orange shirt.

The van is described as a while full-size panel van.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
