Police followed footprints in freshly fallen snow to a yard half a mile away from the site of a burglary.

There, they found the suspect hiding.

Police say Paul Gonzales, 38, had been trying to break into several homes in the area of 1500 East Platte, and got into at least one around 1 a.m. Thursday. The footprints took officers through several yards, up and around several homes and vehicles, and finally straight to the suspect's hiding place.

Gonzales was arrested for trespassing.
