A drunk woman began fighting an officer while being handcuffed, according to police, forcing the officer to tase her to bring the woman under control.
Police say the incident happened Wednesday night after officers were called to a women and children's shelter in southwest Colorado Springs. Police were told that an intoxicated woman was causing a disturbance.
Officer Bianca Caro reported finding 37-year-old Alecia Zaher, and tried to put her in cuffs. Police say Zaher became combative and starting fighting with Caro. Caro finally used a taser to calm Zaher down, which police say ended the assault.
Zaher was booked into the CJC for second-degree assault on a peace officer, which is a felony charge.
Caro sustained minor injuries in the altercation.
