Drugs were allegedly found in a vehicle after its driver got into an accident involving a Springs police officer.

The crash happened Wednesday night at North Academy and Meadowland.

Police say the driver tried to make a left turn in front of Officer Clarence Moore, who was in a marked police cruiser at the time. The two vehicles collided, resulting in minimal damage to both cars. Neither man was hurt.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Claudio Quintana, was found to be driving with a revoked license according to police. His vehicle was impounded.

At the impound, police were doing routine inventory search of the vehicle when they say they discovered meth and marijuana stashed inside. Police say they believe Quintana is a drug dealer, based on the discovery of those drugs and several other items.

Quintana was arrested for drug and traffic charges.
