Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
11 News is working to get new information on the condition of Pueblo Police Chief Luis Velez.
Hospital officials tell us he is in "fair condition" as of Tuesday morning.
Chief Velez has "unforeseen health issues" according to the department. He will be out of the office for an extended period of time. The department is not saying what kind of health issues he is dealing with.
The deputy chief has been named acting chief for now.
Chief Velez has been with the Pueblo Police Department since 2011. Before that, he was with the Colorado Springs Police Department for 31 years.
