Police say a man believed to be responsible for a shooting and several carjackings turned himself in.

Denver police say 20-year-old Alejandro Noel left behind a number of crime scenes spanning over several miles before fleeing.

Noel is accused of first shooting a man sitting in a vehicle on the 1400 block of Newton Street, leaving him in critical condition. At last report Tuesday night, his status had been upgraded to fair.

As the suspect tried to get away, police say he crashed a van a quarter-mile away on Meade Street and then carjacked another vehicle.

After making it a mile, police say Noel carjacked another vehicle at West 24th and Irving, this time a postal truck. He then allegedly headed up Irving to West 29th and carjacked a red Chevy Cobalt. That was the last known vehicle Noel was allegedly in before leaving the area.

According to sister station KCNC, Noel does not have a criminal record in Colorado.
