A burglary suspect is in custody after trying to flee police.

Police received a call around 6:30 a.m. that a storage shed on the 3900 block of North Nevada had been broken into. Responding officers located the suspect, who was still near the scene. When he saw police, they say he ran.

By 8 a.m., officers had caught the suspect near Fillmore and Nevada. He was taken straight to the CJC. An officer told 11 News that due to the quick transport to the CJC, the suspect may have already been wanted on other charges.

The suspect has not been identified at this time.
