Police say Man is Not "Person of Interest" in Abduction Investigation

According to Colorado Springs Police, the person they called a "person of interest" in the attempted abduction of a 5-year-old girl, is not part of their investigation anymore.

Police released a picture of the man Thursday. After the media coverage, CSPD identified and contacted the person in the picture and now say he's not a "person of interest".

The incident happened June 12 on the 4300 E. Pikes Peak Ave. That is near North Academy in Colorado Springs.

A man grabbed the 5-year-old girl while she was playing outside and tried to carry her away, but ended up releasing her.

Police are still searching for a Hispanic male, 5’ 0” tall with a thin build, black hair in a bowl cut and a black goatee.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
