Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
A man who allegedly assaulted his mother is behind bars Sunday morning after officers located him late Saturday night.
Sanza Thompson, 33, was found at his home around 11:20 p.m., five hours after the alleged incident.
According to Springs police, Thompson assaulted his mother and her friend, both women in their 60s. He then started threatening them with a gun. While doing so, the gun slipped from his hand and the friend grabbed it and hid it from him.
Thompson had already run off by the time officers made it to the home on the 2600 block of Uintah. Police searched the area, but were unable to find him.
Five hours later, officers found Thompson at his house and arrested him. Jail records indicate he is currently in custody at the CJC.
Police say neither victim sustained serious injuries.
