Police say they caught two suspects red-handed running into an apartment building early Tuesday morning.

Officers had been called to the 100 block of University Drive in Colorado Springs just after 2:30 a.m. on reports that two men were breaking into cars in the area. When officers got on scene, they say they saw two males running into an apartment building.

Police waited until they came back out, and then tried to make contact with them. One of the men was successfully detained then, while police say the other tried to run. Officers ran after him and caught him within minutes.

Both men have been charged with first-degree criminal trespass, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy. They've been identified as Kevin Dicicco and Shawn Mcallister.
