Three District 2 schools were put under secured perimeter status for 20 minutes Friday while police investigated reports of shots fired in the area.
The schools were Sierra High School, Centennial Elementary School and Carmel Middle School. All are in the area of Chelton and Academy.
A spokeswoman with the district said the students were never in any danger. Police were unable to find anything indicating there had been a shooting, and gave the schools the go-ahead to return to business as usual at 10:17 a.m.
